కథా వివరణ:
1. కౌసల్యా దేవి ఆవేదన:
రాముడు తన తల్లి కౌసల్య దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి జరిగిన విషయం చెప్పాడు. ఆ వార్త విన్న కౌసల్య గుండె చెరువై కింద పడిపోయింది. "నాయనా! సంతానం లేక ఎన్నో నోములు నోచి నిన్ను పొందాను. ఇప్పుడు నిన్ను అడవికి పంపి నేను ఎలా బ్రతకాలి? నీవు లేని అయోధ్య నాకు అడవితో సమానం" అని విలపించింది. రాముడు ఆమెను ధర్మబోధతో ఓదార్చి, తండ్రి మాట నిలబెట్టడం తన కర్తవ్యమని నచ్చజెప్పాడు.
2. లక్ష్మణుని ఆగ్రహం:
తమ్ముడు లక్ష్మణుడు ఈ అన్యాయాన్ని చూసి ఉగ్రరూపం దాల్చాడు. "అన్నయ్యా! ధర్మాన్ని వదిలి, ఎవరో మాట విని నిన్ను అడవికి పంపే తండ్రిని బంధిస్తాను. ఈ అయోధ్యను నా బాణాలతో జయిస్తాను. నీవు పట్టాభిషిక్తుడవు కావాల్సిందే" అని గర్జించాడు. అప్పుడు రాముడు లక్ష్మణుడిని దగ్గరకు తీసుకుని శాంతింపజేశాడు. "లక్ష్మణా! లోకంలో తండ్రి ఆజ్ఞ కంటే మించిన ధర్మం లేదు. కోపం మన విచక్షణను చంపేస్తుంది. శాంతించు" అని ధర్మాన్ని బోధించాడు.
3. సీతమ్మ పట్టుదల:
అనంతరం రాముడు సీతమ్మ దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి, "నేను అడవికి వెళ్తున్నాను, నీవు అత్తమామల సేవ చేస్తూ ఇక్కడే ఉండు" అని చెప్పాడు. కానీ సీతమ్మ ఏమాత్రం అంగీకరించలేదు. "నాకు భర్తే దైవం, భర్తే సర్వస్వం. నీ పాదముద్రలనే అనుసరిస్తాను. అడవిలో ముళ్లు కూడా నాకు పూలబాటల్లా అనిపిస్తాయి. నీవు లేకుండా నేను ఇక్కడ ఒక్క క్షణం కూడా ఉండలేను" అని పట్టుబట్టింది.
శ్లోకం:
"యథా రాఘవ నిర్గచ్ఛేత్ వనం త్వం చ మయా సహ |
న హీనం స్వర్గలోకోఽపి మమ ప్రీతిం కరిష్యతి ||"
(వాల్మీకి రామాయణం)
భావం: "ఓ రాఘవా! నీవు వనానికి వెళ్తే నేను నీతో పాటే వస్తాను. నీవు లేని స్వర్గలోకం కూడా నాకు సంతోషాన్ని ఇవ్వదు."అని పట్టు పట్టింది చివరకు ఆమె అచంచలమైన ప్రేమని చూసి రాముడు అంగీకరించాడు.
4. లక్ష్మణుని సేవ:
అన్నయ్య అడవికి వెళ్తుంటే తను ఇక్కడ ఉండలేనని, అన్నవదినల సేవలోనే తన జీవితం ధన్యమని లక్ష్మణుడు కూడా ప్రయాణమయ్యాడు.వద్దన్నాడు,వారించాడు కానీ ఎట్టకేలకు రాముడు సరేనన్నాడు. ఆపైన లక్ష్మణ "నీవు తప్పక రావచ్చును. అయితే ముందుగా నీ తల్లి దగ్గర సెలవు తీసుకో. ఆ తర్వాత జనకమహారాజుకు వరుణుడు ప్రసాదించిన ఆ రెండు శక్తివంతమైన ధనుస్సులను, దుర్భేద్యమైన కవచాన్ని, రెండు అక్షయతూణీరాలను, శక్తివంతమైన ఖడ్డాల జతను తీసుకొనిరా. వశిష్ఠునికి నీ గౌరవాభివాదాలు చెల్లించిన మీదట ఆయుధాలతో ఇక్కడకు వస్తే మనం బయలుదేరుదాం" అని సూచనలు చేశాడు.
రాముని ఆజ్ఞలను నెరవేర్చి లక్ష్మణుడు తిరిగి వచ్చాడు. అంతట రాముడు తన వద్దనున్న సకల వస్తు సంపదను దానం చేయదలచి బ్రాహ్మణోత్తములను పిలిచుకురమ్మని అతనికి చెప్పాడు. ఆ తర్వాత కొద్దిసేపటికి వశిష్ఠుని కుమారుడైన సుయజ్ఞుడు, అగస్త్య విశ్వామిత్రుల కుమారులు రాజసౌధానికి వచ్చారు.
వారిని యధోచితంగా స్వాగతించిన మీదట రాముడు తన పరిచారకులతో తాము లేనపుడు తమ సౌధాలను జాగ్రత్తగా చూడవలసిందిగా సూచించాడు. ఆ పైన తన సంపదనంతటినీ తీసుకొని రావలసినదని రాముడు తన కోశాధిపతిని ఆదేశించాడు. ఆ పిమ్మట కొండంత యెత్తున బంగారాన్ని ఆభరణాలను తెచ్చి కుప్పపోయటం జరిగింది. వాటితోపాటు దుస్తులు, రథాలు, జంతువులు వంటి ఇతర అమూల్యమైన వాటిని అక్కడ చేర్చటం జరిగింది. అలా రాముడు తన సంపదలను వితరణ చేయటం ప్రారంభించాడు. తన యావత్తు సంపద దానం చేసాడు.ఆరోజున ఏ బ్రాహ్మణుడుగాని, బంధువుగాని, తనపై ఆధారపడిన వాడుగాని, భిక్షకుడుగాని దానం పొందకుండా పోలేదు.అలా ముగ్గురూ కలిసి రాజ్యభోగాలను త్యాగం చేసి, నారచీరలు ధరించి, అయోధ్యను వీడటానికి సిద్ధమయ్యారు.

Kausalya’s Grief – Lakshmana’s Anger – Sita’s
Determination
Rama approaches his mother Kausalya and informs her about
the exile. On hearing the devastating news, she collapses in grief and laments
deeply, saying that she attained him after many prayers and cannot imagine
living without him. To her, Ayodhya without Rama is no different from a forest.
Rama gently consoles her, explaining that upholding his father’s promise is his
foremost duty.
Lakshmana, enraged by this injustice, bursts out in anger.
He declares that he would defy the decision, even imprison their father if
needed, and ensure Rama’s coronation. Rama, however, calms him with wisdom,
reminding him that a father’s command is the highest dharma and that anger
clouds judgment.
Later, Rama informs Sita about his exile and asks her to
stay back and serve his parents. But Sita firmly refuses. She declares that her
husband is her everything and insists on accompanying him. She says that even
the hardships of the forest would feel like comfort if she is with him, and
life without him is unimaginable.
Quoting from the Valmiki Ramayana, Sita expresses:
"Even heaven holds no joy for me if I am separated from you."
Moved by her unwavering love and determination, Rama agrees to take her along.
Lakshmana, too, insists on accompanying Rama, stating that
his life finds meaning only in serving his brother and sister-in-law. Though
Rama initially resists, he eventually permits him, giving instructions to seek
blessings, gather divine weapons, and prepare for the journey.
After completing all preparations, Rama decides to renounce
his royal wealth. He distributes his entire fortune—gold, ornaments, clothes,
chariots, and other valuables—to Brahmins, relatives, and dependents. No one
leaves empty-handed. Renouncing all comforts, Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana don
simple garments and prepare to leave Ayodhya.
