కారణమేమై ఉంటుందని లక్ష్మీదేవి రకరకాల ఆలోచనలు చేసింది *
తన స్వామి అంత వేగంగా ఎక్కడికి ఎందుకు వెలుతున్నాడో అడగాలని లక్ష్యీదేవి అనుకుంది * అడిగితే జవాబు చెప్తాడో .....*

విష్ణువు తన చక్రంతో మొసలి
తలను తెగవేశాడు * గజేంద్రుని రక్షించాడు *
అట్లా రక్షింపబడిన
గజేంద్రుడు ఆనందించాడు *

Elephant Saved by Lord Vishnu – The Devotion of Gajendra
One day, Gajendra, the mighty elephant king, found himself trapped by a crocodile in a vast lake. Exhausted and in pain, he lifted his trunk toward the sky and cried out with all his heart:
"Oh Lord! I have no strength left. My life is slipping away. I am completely exhausted… I am on the brink of death. You are my only refuge. Please, forgive me and come to save me!"
Even though the gods, including Brahma, were aware of Gajendra’s cries, they hesitated to intervene. But the Lord of devotees, Lord Vishnu, could not ignore the devotion of his faithful servant.

Though he was seated in the glorious Vaikuntha, Vishnu heard Gajendra’s plea. Without even informing Goddess Lakshmi, without grabbing his conch or discus, and without summoning his mighty vehicle Garuda, Vishnu sprang into action to save the devoted elephant.
Following him were Lakshmi Devi, the celestial attendants, Garuda, Naraada, and other divine beings, all rushing toward the lake. Yet, Vishnu’s focus was entirely on his devotee; even Lakshmi Devi herself, walking beside him, was unaware of his purpose. She wondered silently why Vishnu was moving so swiftly, but she did not ask—she trusted his actions completely.
As Vishnu approached, he saw the crocodile attacking Gajendra. In a swift motion, with his mighty discus, Vishnu struck the crocodile, freeing the elephant from its grip.
Gajendra, overwhelmed with joy, bowed before the Lord, praising him for the divine intervention. His unwavering devotion had called the Lord into action, and the Lord had not failed him.
This story, beautifully captured by Pothana, shows the power of devotion (bhakti): when a devotee calls with complete faith, the Lord moves heaven and earth to protect them.
Moral: True devotion is never ignored. The Lord of the universe always responds to sincere prayer and love.
