కథా వివరణ
1. వాలి సుగ్రీవ వైర కారణం:
సుగ్రీవుడు తన అన్న వాలితో పగ ఎలా ఏర్పడిందో రాముడికి వివరించాడు.నా తండ్రి మరణించినపుడు పెద్దవాడైన వాలి కిష్కింధకు రాజు కాగా నేను అతని సేవలో నిమగ్నం కావటం తటస్థించింది. దీనికి ముందు మయుడనే దానవుని కుమారుడైన మాయావి ఒక స్త్రీ కారణంగా వాలితో వైరం పెట్టుకున్నాడు. తర్వాత ఒక రాత్రివేళ అందరూ నిద్రిస్తుండగా ఆ మాయావి కిష్కింధకు వచ్చి వాలిని ద్వంద్వ యుద్ధానికి రమ్మని సవాలు చేశాడు. వాలి భార్యలు అతణ్ణి వారించ యత్నించినప్పటికీ ఆగ్రహపరవశుడైన వాలి దాడికి వచ్చిన ప్రత్యర్థితో తలపడటానికి రాజసౌధం నుంచి బయటకు వెళ్లాడు. నేను మా అన్నను అనుసరించి వెళ్లాను. మమ్మల్ని చూడగానే మాయావి భయపడి పారిపోయాడు. మేము మాయావిని తరుముతూ వెంటపడగా అతను దట్టమైన పొదలచేత ఆచ్ఛాదింపబడి ఉన్న అగాధమైన అంధకార బంధురమైన గుహలోకి చొరబడ్డాడు. నన్ను గుహద్వారం వద్ద కావలి ఉండమని చెప్పి వాలి ఆ దానవునితో పోరాడడానికై ఆ గుహలోకి వెళ్ళాడు.
ఆ తర్వాత ఒక పూర్తి సంవత్సరం గడిచింది. అంతకాలం నేను ద్వారం వద్దనే పహరాకాస్తూ నిలిచినప్పటికీ నా సోదరుని జాడ కనిపించలేదు. అకస్మాత్తుగా గుహలోనుండి నురుగుతో కూడిన రక్తం రావటం గమనించాను. పలువురు దానవుల అరుపుల ధ్వని కూడా నాకు వినిపించింది కాని నా సోదరుడి కంఠస్వరం మాత్రం వినిపించనేలేదు. నేను వాలి వధించబడి ఉంటాడన్న నిర్ధారణకు వచ్చాను. అంతట ఒక పెద్ద బండరాతితో గుహ యొక్క ముఖద్వారాన్ని మూసివేసి(మళ్ళీ ఆ రాక్షసుడు వెనక్కి రాకుండా ఏర్పాటు)నా సోదరుడి దివంగత ఆత్మయొక్క శ్రేయస్సుకోసం జలతర్పణం చేశాను. నేను కిష్కింధకు తిరిగిరాగానే సచివులు నన్ను రాజసింహాసనంపై ప్రతిష్ఠించారు. నేను ధర్మబద్ధంగా రాజ్యపాలన చేయసాగాను.
కానీ కొంత కాలం గడిచిన పిమ్మట వాలి ఆ దానవులను సంహరించి తిరిగి వచ్చాడు,వచ్చి సింహాసనం మీద నేను ఆసీనుడిని అవడం చూసి క్రోధం తో సచివులను బంధించి,నేను నిజం చెప్పిన వినకుండా, రాజ్యం పొందటం కోసమే నేను బయటికి రాకుండా గుహ ద్వారం మూసి వేసి ఈ సుగ్రీవుడు మోసం చేశాడని నా భార్యను కూడా స్వాధీనం చేసుకుని నన్ను రాజ్యం నుండి తరిమేసాడు. ఆనాటి నుండి నేను ఈ ఋష్యమూఖ పర్వతం మీద నివసిస్తూ ఉన్నాను అని సుగ్రీవుడు తన కథ మొత్తం రాముడికి చెప్పాడు.
అంతట రాముడు "ప్రియమైన సుగ్రీవా! నీవు నీ భార్యను, రాజ్యాన్ని తిరిగి పొందగలిగేలా నేను వాలిని సంహరిస్తాననే విషయమై నిశ్చంతగా ఉండు" అన్నాడు.
2. వాలి శక్తి - సుగ్రీవుని సందేహం:
ఒక్క దెబ్బతో ఏడు సాల వృక్షాలను కూల్చగలడు, కైలాస పర్వతం నే కూల్చ గలిగె శక్తి ఉన్న దుందుంబి నీ సంహరించిన వాడు వాలి అలాంటి వాన్ని రాముడు గెలవగలడా అని సుగ్రీవుడికి చిన్న అనుమానం కలిగింది.
3. దుందుభి కాయం:
అప్పుడు రాముడు తన శక్తిని నిరూపించడానికి, వాలి చంపిన 'దుందుభి' అనే రాక్షసుడి కొండంత అస్థిపంజరాన్ని తన కాలి బొటనవేలితో నూలుపోగులా ఎత్తి పది యోజనాల దూరంలో పడేలా విసిరాడు.

Story Overview:
Sugriva narrated to Rama the origin of his enmity with Vali.
After their father’s death, Vali became the king of Kishkindha while Sugriva
served him loyally.
A demon named Mayavi, son of Maya, once challenged Vali to a
duel. Vali pursued him into a deep cave, instructing Sugriva to guard the
entrance. A year passed with no sign of Vali. When Sugriva saw blood and heard
terrifying sounds from inside, he assumed Vali had been killed. He sealed the
cave and performed funeral rites. The ministers later crowned him king.
However, Vali later returned alive after killing the demon.
Seeing Sugriva on the throne, Vali misunderstood the situation and banished
him, also taking his wife. Since then, Sugriva had been living on Mount
Rishyamuka.
Vali’s Strength and Sugriva’s Doubt
Sugriva expressed doubt about whether Rama could defeat
Vali, who possessed immense strength—capable of uprooting seven sala trees and
defeating the mighty demon Dundubhi.
Rama’s Demonstration of Power
To dispel Sugriva’s doubts, Rama lifted the gigantic
skeleton of Dundubhi with his toe and threw it a great distance with ease.
