విశ్వామిత్ర మహర్షి వెంట రామలక్ష్మణులు అడవి మార్గంలో నడుస్తున్నారు. వారు మలద, కరూశ అనే జనపదాల మధ్య ఉన్న భయంకరమైన అడవిలోకి ప్రవేశించారు. అక్కడ 'తాటక' అనే రాక్షసి వేయి ఏనుగుల బలంతో ఆ ప్రాంతాన్ని నాశనం చేస్తూ, ఎవరినీ రానివ్వకుండా అడ్డుకుంటోందని విశ్వామిత్రుడు చెప్పాడు.
స్త్రీని చంపడానికి రాముడు మొదట సంకోచించగా, "లోక కళ్యాణం కోసం, ధర్మాన్ని రక్షించడం కోసం దుష్టులను శిక్షించడం రాజధర్మం" అని విశ్వామిత్రుడు బోధించాడు. గురువు ఆజ్ఞను శిరసావహించిన రాముడు, తన బాణంతో ఆ రాక్షసిని సంహరించాడు. దీనికి సంతోషించిన విశ్వామిత్రుడు రాముడికి అనేక అస్త్రశస్త్రాలను ఉపదేశించాడు.
తరువాత వారు 'సిద్ధాశ్రమం' చేరుకున్నారు. అక్కడ విశ్వామిత్రుడు యజ్ఞం ప్రారంభించగా, ఆరు రోజుల పాటు రామలక్ష్మణులు కంటిమీద కునుకు లేకుండా కాపలా కాశారు. యజ్ఞం ముగిసే సమయంలో మారీచ, సుబాహులు రక్తమాంసాలతో యజ్ఞవాటికను అపవిత్రం చేయడానికి ప్రయత్నించారు. రాముడు 'మానవాస్త్రం' ప్రయోగించి మారీచుడిని వంద యోజనాల దూరం సముద్రంలో పడేలా కొట్టాడు. 'ఆగ్నేయాస్త్రం'తో సుబాహుని సంహరించాడు. యజ్ఞం దిగ్విజయంగా పూర్తయింది.
అనంతరం వారు మిథిలా నగరానికి బయలుదేరారు. మార్గమధ్యంలో గౌతమ మహర్షి ఆశ్రమాన్ని దర్శించారు. అక్కడ శాపం కారణంగా రాయిలా (అదృశ్య రూపంలో) పడి ఉన్న గౌతముని భార్య 'అహల్య' గురించి విశ్వామిత్రుడు వివరించాడు. రాముడి పాదము ఆశ్రమం లో పెట్టగానే అహల్యకు శాపవిమోచనం కలిగి, ఆమె తన నిజరూపాన్ని పొందింది. ఆ మహాతల్లి రామలక్ష్మణులకు ఆతిథ్యం ఇచ్చి, తిరిగి తన భర్తను చేరుకుంది.

రాముడు వాటిని సంహరించి యజ్ఞం విజయవంతం అయ్యింది.
3. అహల్య శాప విమోచనం ఎలా జరిగింది?
మార్గమధ్యంలో గౌతమ మహర్షి ఆశ్రమంలో రాముడు అడుగు పెట్టగానే,
శాపిత అహల్య శాపముంచిన రూపం నుండి విమోచనం పొందింది. ఆమె తన నిజరూపాన్ని పొంది,
రామలక్ష్మణులకు ఆతిథ్యం ఇచ్చి,
భర్త గౌతముని చేరుకుంది.

Sage Vishwamitra was traveling through the forest with Rama
and Lakshmana. They entered a dangerous forest lying between the villages of
Malada and Karusha. Vishwamitra explained that a demoness named “Tataka” was
destroying the region with the strength of a thousand elephants and would not
allow anyone to pass.

At first, Rama hesitated to kill a woman, but Vishwamitra
taught him: “For the welfare of the world and to protect dharma, punishing the
wicked is the duty of a king.” Obeying his guru’s command, Rama killed Tataka
with his arrow. Pleased, Vishwamitra then taught Rama many celestial weapons.
Next, they reached Siddha Ashram, where Vishwamitra
began a yajna (sacrificial ritual). For six days, Rama and Lakshmana stood
guard without moving an eyelid. At the end of the ritual, Maricha and Subahu
tried to defile the yajna with blood and flesh. Rama used a “human-shaped
arrow” to strike Maricha far into the ocean and destroyed Subahu with the
Agneya Astra. The yajna was successfully completed.
Afterward, they proceeded toward the city of Mithila. On the
way, they visited Sage Gautama’s ashram. Vishwamitra told them about Ahalya,
who had been turned invisible due to a curse. When Rama stepped into the
ashram, Ahalya was liberated from her curse and regained her true form. She
welcomed Rama and Lakshmana, then returned to her husband, Gautama.
