Bobby The Moral Story for Kids:
Bobby was an eight-year-old bundle of mischief. No one
really knew his real name—his mother called him “Bobby,” and that was enough
for everyone. Naughty by nature and curious by habit, Bobby had a special
talent for getting into trouble, especially when it came to testing his
mother’s patience.
One morning, as usual, Bobby took his bath and went off to
school. Since it was a morning school, he returned home by eleven. The moment
he stepped inside, his mother noticed something missing.
“Bobby,” she asked, “what happened to the soap? I opened a
new one this morning, and now it’s gone.”
“I don’t know, Mom,” Bobby replied casually. “It was there
when I took my bath.”
With that, he walked away and began playing with his toys.
His mother followed him. “Then where did it go?”
“I really don’t know,” Bobby said, avoiding her eyes. “Ask
Dad, or Sister, or the maid.”
Realizing there was no point pressing him further, she let
it go. That evening, when Bobby’s sister returned from college, their mother
asked her about the missing soap.
“How would I know, Mom?” she said. “I bathed first in the
morning. Everyone else used the bathroom after me.”
The mother paused. “Oh, right. The last person to bathe was
Bobby. He should know.”
“Bobby, come here!” she called out.
“I’m going to play with Vikram,” Bobby mumbled, already
halfway out.
“You can go later,” his mother said firmly. “First tell
me—what did you do with the soap?”
“I didn’t do anything, Mom. Honestly,” Bobby said. Then,
with wide innocent eyes, he added, “You know that ghost story on TV? Maybe a
ghost came to our house and took it.”
His mother stared at him. “A ghost? Why would a ghost steal
soap?”
“Maybe the ghost doesn’t have soap,” Bobby replied
seriously. “You took a new one today, so it liked it and took it.”
“And why would a ghost come near our house?” she asked.
Bobby thought hard. “Yesterday, when the ghost serial was on
TV, the power went off, remember? Maybe the ghost got stuck here. In the
morning, when you switched the TV on again, it probably went back inside.”
That was too much. Both his mother and sister burst into
laughter. Just then, Bobby’s father returned from work, and the soap mystery
was temporarily forgotten. Bobby happily ran off to play.
At dinner that night, his mother mentioned the missing soap
to her husband.
“It’s only soap,” he said calmly. “Why worry so much?”
“I know,” she laughed. “It just felt strange. And you
should’ve heard Bobby’s story—he said a ghost took it!”
Before she could say more, Bobby suddenly started crying.
Everyone froze.
“Why are you crying, Bobby?” his father asked gently.
“Dad,” Bobby sniffed, “I’ll tell you everything if you
promise not to hit me.”
“Tell us,” his mother said softly. “We won’t scold you.”
Bobby wiped his tears. “I know what really happened to the soap. While I was bathing in the morning, I was playing with it. It slipped from my hand and fell into the drain. I was scared you’d scold me, so I didn’t tell you.”
His sister looked at him in surprise. “Then why tell us now?”
“I thought now you wouldn’t say anything,” Bobby said innocently.
The sister laughed. “He tried to hide it, but the poor fellow couldn’t keep it in!”
The parents laughed too. After watching them for a moment, Bobby stopped crying—and joined in their laughter, the mystery finally washed away, just like the soap itself.

Moral of the Story:
Honesty is always the best choice. Even if you make a mistake, telling the truth shows courage and earns understanding—hiding the truth only makes things harder.
Bobby’s little adventure also reminds us that mistakes happen, and it’s okay to admit them.
