చందమామ భేతాళ కథ

ఒకప్పటి రోజులలో ఒక మహారాజు ఉన్నాడు. ఆ మహారాజుకు మూడు రాజకుమారులు ఉండేవారు. ఒక రోజు రాజు అత్యంత అసౌకర్యంగా అనిపించి, తన రాజ్యంలోని పండువైన వనంలో చక్రాలా తిరుగుతూ నడిచాడు.

అక్కడ అతను ఒక పాత చెరటల మధ్య ఒక పెద్ద చందమామను చూసాడు. ఆ చందమామ అతనికి ఇలా చెప్పింది,
“ఓ మహారాజా, ఈ భేట్టాళనూ చూడండి, అతని కథలు వినండి. ప్రతి కథలో ఒక పెద్ద పాఠం ఉంది. మీరు వాటిని గ్రహిస్తే, మీ రాజ్యం శాంతియుతంగా పరిపాలించబడుతుంది.”

మహారాజు ఆశ్చర్యపోయాడు. భేట్టాళ, అతి విచిత్రమైన రూపంలో, చెరటలో వెయ్యి లోకాలను చూసినట్లుగా నవ్వుతూ, మొదటి కథ చెబుతూ మొదలెట్టాడు.

భేట్టాళ కథ:

“రాజా, ఎంత శక్తివంతమైనవాడనైనా, దయ, సమ్మానం లేకుండా వ్యవహరించినట్లయితే, అది అన్ని చేజారిపోతుంది.”

అలాగే భేట్టాళ మరికొన్ని కథలు చెబుతూ, మహారాజుకు ధైర్యం, నిజాయితీ, మరియు వినయం గురించి బోధించాడు.

చివరలో మహారాజు అర్థం చేసుకున్నాడు, “నా రాజ్యం నా ప్రజల పట్ల న్యాయమైనా, కృతజ్ఞతతోనా పాలించాలి.”

The Lesson of the Hen

Once upon a time, in a small village nestled among green hills, there lived a farmer named Ravindra with his family. He did not own vast fields, but he had a special hen. Every day, this hen laid wonderful eggs, enough to provide comfort and prosperity for Ravindra’s family.

One day, Ravindra wondered, “Can my hen lay even more eggs? I need more wealth—it’s necessary!” Driven by this thought, he began pressuring the hen. “Lay more eggs! Give me more wealth!” he demanded.

The hen worked harder and harder, producing more eggs. But soon, it became exhausted. Fear showed in its eyes, its legs ached, and it grew weak. Still, Ravindra did not relent, blinded by the desire for more.

That night, as the moon shone brightly in the sky, a Betal (a mystical spirit) appeared, perching on a branch above the village. He looked at Ravindra and said with a gentle laugh,

"Farmer, you are forcing this little hen to work only for your benefit. Your pride and desire for instant gain will solve nothing. True wealth lies not in money alone, but in peace, respect, and gratitude."

Ravindra, surprised, asked, “O Betal, how can you help my hen?”

The Betal explained, sitting close by:

"If the hen is overworked, it will stop giving eggs. It will no longer bring joy or satisfaction to your heart. By failing to respect it, you will lose even the wealth it can provide. Real prosperity comes not only from what you receive, but from the honor, love, and gratitude you show to others."

Hearing this, Ravindra looked at the hen. Though it still laid eggs, it seemed weary. He realized his mistake. Humble and regretful, he spoke kindly, “I see how hard you are working. I respect your effort, and I am grateful to you.”

From that day on, Ravindra gave the hen freedom and cared for its needs. The hen, happy and respected, continued to lay eggs, bringing contentment and prosperity to Ravindra and his family.

The Betal, watching from the tree, nodded as the moon shone down. “This is your first lesson, farmer. Power and wealth alone are not enough. Humility, kindness, and gratitude are the true treasures of life. If you practice these, your home, family, and village will flourish in happiness.”

Ravindra embraced this lesson. He no longer sought wealth for its own sake, but gave respect, care, and love to the hen. He realized that real riches come through compassion, gratitude, and courage. The story of Ravindra and his hen spread through the village as an unforgettable message. Everyone saw his respect for the hen and understood the value of love and humility in life.

From that day forward, Ravindra became known as a kind, brave, and wise man. Each night, he listened to the Betal’s stories, learning their lessons and practicing them in his life.

Moral: True wealth is not money alone; it is found in the respect, love, and kindness we give to others.
