ఒక ధనికుడు తన పిల్లవాడి చెడు అలవాట్లని చూసి చాలా విచారించాడు. ఒక వివేకమైన సలహాదారుడిని ఈ విషయం కోసం నియమించాడు. ఆ పెద్ద మనిషి ఆ పిల్లవాడిని తనతో విహారానికి తీసుకెళ్లాడు. అడవి దారిలో పిల్లవాడికి చిన్న చిన్న మొక్కలు చూపి, వాటిని పీకమన్నాడు. పిల్లాడు చాలా సులువుగా తీసేసాడు.
ఇంకా కొంత ముందుకెళ్లాక, కొంచం పెరిగిన మొక్కలని చూపి, “పీకగలవా?” అన్నాడు. వెంటనే, ఉత్సాహంగా పీకి చూపించాడు. ఇంకా ముందుకి వెళ్ళాక, పొదని మొట్ట పెరికించగలవా? అని అడిగాడు. కొంచం కష్టపడి అది కూడా ఎలాగో పెరికించాడు.
ఇంకా పెద్ద చెట్టు చూపి, దానిని పీకగలవా అని అడిగాడు. “నా వల్ల కాదన్నాడు.” “చూసావా మరి? మన అలవాట్లు ఇలాగే పాతుకుపోయాక పీకలేము. లేతగా ఉన్నప్పుడే చెడ్డ అలవాట్లని వదిలెయ్యాలి. మంచి అలవాట్లని నాటుకోవాలి, పెంచుకోవాలి” అని ఉపదేశించాడు.
కథ యొక్క నీతి: చెడ్డ అలవాట్లని వదిలించుకోవటం కష్టం. మొదట్లోనే వాటిని వదిలిపెట్టాలి.

A rich man is very sad when he sees his child's bad habits. Appointed a prudent advisor for the matter. The big man took the boy on a vacation with him. On the way to the forest he showed the child small plants and peeked at them. The child took it off very easily.
A little further on, he pointed to the slightly overgrown plants and asked, "Can they grow?" Said. Immediately, Peeky excitedly showed up. Going even further, can the bush be pruned? He asked. A little hard work and how it even twisted.
He pointed to another large tree and asked if it could grow. "Not because of me." “Did you see? Our habits cannot be rooted in this way. Bad habits should be abandoned while still pale. We have to inculcate and cultivate good habits, ”he advised.
The moral of the story: Bad habits are hard to get rid of. Leave them out early.

Oka dhanikuḍu tana pillavāḍi ceḍu alavāṭlani cūsi cālā vicārin̄cāḍu. Oka vivēkamaina salahādāruḍini ī viṣayaṁ kōsaṁ niyamin̄cāḍu. Ā pedda maniṣi ā pillavāḍini tanatō vihārāniki tīsukeḷlāḍu. Aḍavi dārilō pillavāḍiki cinna cinna mokkalu cūpi, vāṭini pīkamannāḍu. Pillāḍu cālā suluvugā tīsēsāḍu.
Iṅkā konta mundukeḷlāka, kon̄caṁ perigina mokkalani cūpi, “pīkagalavā?” Annāḍu. Veṇṭanē, utsāhaṅgā pīki cūpin̄cāḍu. Iṅkā munduki veḷḷāka, podani moṭṭa perikin̄cagalavā? Ani aḍigāḍu. Kon̄caṁ kaṣṭapaḍi adi kūḍā elāgō perikin̄cāḍu.
Iṅkā pedda ceṭṭu cūpi, dānini pīkagalavā ani aḍigāḍu. “Nā valla kādannāḍu.” “Cūsāvā mari? Mana alavāṭlu ilāgē pātukupōyāka pīkalēmu. Lētagā unnappuḍē ceḍḍa alavāṭlani vadileyyāli. Man̄ci alavāṭlani nāṭukōvāli, pen̄cukōvāli” ani upadēśin̄cāḍu.
Katha yokka nīti: Ceḍḍa alavāṭlani vadilin̄cukōvaṭaṁ kaṣṭaṁ. Modaṭlōnē vāṭini vadilipeṭṭāli.
