Mountain (English Translation)
Long ago, beside a small village, stood a massive mountain known as the “Unshakable Mountain.”
It rose so high that it seemed to touch the
clouds. When strong winds blew, strange echoes emerged from its caves. At
night, under the silver glow of the moon, it looked mysterious and
intimidating.
One year, heavy rains poured continuously. Stones began to
roll down from the upper slopes of the mountain. Fear spread quickly among the
villagers.
“What if the mountain collapses?”
“Our village is in danger. We must leave at once,” some insisted.
Panic spread like wildfire. No one paused to think clearly.
Every whisper added to the growing fear.
On a calm moonlit night, a wise sage appeared at the edge of the village. In a voice as gentle as a child’s, he said:
“It is easy to be afraid. Fear clouds our vision. But courage brings light to
the heart, and knowledge shows us the way. Listen to one another’s advice. Only
then will you find a solution.”
His words slowly settled into their hearts.
Instead of fleeing immediately, the villagers decided to study the mountain. Guided by their elders, a few brave villagers carefully observed the slopes. They discovered that the falling rocks were caused by rainwater rushing down a single path.
If they built strong mud barriers and
proper channels for the water, the danger could be reduced.
Working together, the villagers dug canals, strengthened
weak areas, and took careful precautions. Rather than running away in fear,
they faced the challenge with unity and wisdom.
Months later, the mountain stood calm once more. The village remained safe.
The people realized the mountain was not their enemy — it was
simply a part of nature. By understanding it, they could live alongside it
peacefully.
The village emerged stronger than before. A new confidence
filled their hearts — the confidence that comes from conquering fear.
Moral: Fear does not control us; knowledge and
courage lead us to true success.
